CARES is a service that handles mental health crisis calls for children and youth in Illinois. You should call CARES when a child is at risk to himself or others, and any time you or others think a child is having a mental health crisis.

Call the Child Abuse Hotline whenever you believe that a person who is caring for a child, who lives with a child, or who works with or around children has caused injury or harm or put the child at risk of physical injury.
